A Facebook user identified as Gbenga Awe, has taken to the social networking platform to reveal that there was a mild drama at the popular gadget place in Abuja known as Emab plaza in Wuse 2, after a shop owner was swindled by some men who came to buy a Tecno Phantom 8 worth N110,000.
According to the story, the men had come in to the shop to buy the phone and pretended that the cash was in their car and so, requested that somebody follow them to collect it.
However, when he returned to his shop, he discovered the bundle of N1000 notes had “changed” to N100 notes. The bundle of cash had only two pieces of N1000 which were used to conceal the torn N100 notes.
The shop owner was left confused and in shock as to how the scammers got away with it. There were some people who suggested that the guys might have swapped the real money with the N100 notes after the man had counted it.
"After the guy counted the money (1k notes) he gave them the phone and they didn't bother with the receipt saying it wasn't necessary only for the guy to return to the store to discover the money has changed to this."
